Since it is potentially dangerous; difficult and timeconsumingto switch back and forth from a lanyardto a retractable; the Miller Lanyard “O-ring” optionsolves this concern by allowing the retractable tobe attached to the lanyard O-ring; while the lanyardremains connected to the back D-ring of the harness.This eliminates the need to continually changeattachment points from a lanyard to a retractable.The placement of the O-ring is designed so that ifa fall occurs; the lanyard shock absorber will notengage and the retractable unit will arrest the fall.
