Honeywell Extends Leadership Position with New Granit XP Industrial Scanner

Honeywell recently announced the GranitTM XP 1990i tethered and Granit XP 1991i wireless scanners in Standard Range (SR) and Extended Range (XR) versions.  The SR will eventually replace the Granit 1910i and 1911i, and the XR establishes a new category of scanner that can scan equally as well up close as it can far away.  Customers no longer must compromise up close barcode scanning speeds in order to scan barcodes from a distance.  And the XR is priced at near standard range scanner pricing.

With the Granit XP scanners, customers can expect increased durability and reliability for a lower total cost of ownership.  Not to brag – but the scanners can withstand 20, eight-foot drops and 7,000 one-meter tumbles.  And with an IP67 sealing it can withstand underwater wash downs.

The Granit XP also has an updated/improved ultra-cool design that’s easier to use yet is backwards compatible with your current Granit accessories.

Honeywell Granit XP 199Xi SR Ultra Rugged Area Imaging Scanner. With the Granit XP 199Xi SR you can expect better/faster barcode reading performance due to a one-megapixel sensor, 800mhz processer and improved firmware.  We like to say it makes bad barcodes good.  Some of the key features include

    • Built to survive harsh treatment including 3 m (10 ft) drops, 7,000 1 m (3.3 ft) tumbles, operating temperatures from -30°C to 50°C (-22°F to 122°F) and IP67 sealing, Granit XP reduces service costs and increases device uptime.
    • Granit provides extreme performance scanning, even on damaged and low-quality barcodes. High-quality barcodes scan and transmit faster than ever.
    • The SR model is ideally suited to normal, arms-length operations on 1D and 2D barcodes. For longer distances, refer to other models in the Granit family.
    • Honeywell Operational Intelligence software delivers on-demand scan insights, enabling higher employee productivity and throughput.
    • The Honeywell Scanner Management Utility (SMU) creates a holistic solution that automates how you deploy and update the scanners in your environment.

Honeywell XP 199Xi XR Ultra Rugged Area Imaging Scanner. With the Granit XP 199Xi XR you can expect ultra-fast scanning in tasks requiring barcode scanning from contact to 33 feet due to the scanner’s groundbreaking, FlexRange™ imaging technology. And BTW, the FlexRange imager has no moving parts making the scanner more durable and more resilient to shocks and drops than traditional imagers - all at a price below traditional long-range scanners.  Some of the key features include:

    • Built to survive harsh treatment including 3 m (10 ft) drops, 7,000 1 m (3.3 ft) tumbles, operating temperatures from -30°C to 50°C (-22°F to 122°F) and IP67 sealing. Granit XP reduces service costs and increases device uptime.
    • Granit provides extreme performance scanning, even on damaged and low-quality barcodes. High-quality barcodes scan and transmit faster than ever.
    • The XR model is ideally suited to normal, near-field scanning operations on 1D and 2D barcodes, plus expanded range scanning of UPC to 1.5 m (5 ft) and 100 mil codes to 10 m (33 ft).
    • Honeywell Operational Intelligence software delivers on-demand scan insights, enabling higher employee productivity and throughput.
    • The Honeywell Scanner Management Utility (SMU) creates a holistic solution that automates how you deploy and update the scanners in your environment.

The Granit 1980i and Granit 1981i, our current extra-long range/all range imagers, will continue to be sold for customers needing to be able to scan barcodes up close through 52 feet.

What Applications are Best for Each Scanner?

    • Granit 1990iSR (wired) and 1991iSR (wireless): Scanning barcodes from contact to arm’s length.
    • Granit 1990iXR (wired) and 1991iXR (wireless):  Scanning barcodes from contact to 33 feet. The XR is priced in between the SR models and the Granit 1980i/1981i.
    • Granit 1980i (wired) and 1981i (wireless): Scanning barcodes from contact to 52 feet and beyond.
