Die digitalen magnetoresistiven Sensoren der 2SS52M-Serie sind omnipolare Festkörpersensoren mit eingebauter magnetoresistiver Brücke, die auf Silizium integriert und in einem Kunststoffgehäuse verkapselt sind. Der integrierte Schaltkreis enthält zudem einen Bandabstandsregler und einen digitalen Ausgang, der auf sehr schwache Magnetfelder anspricht.

Diese Sensor-ICs können entweder mit einem Nord- oder einem Südmagnetpol betrieben werden, der parallel zum Sensor-IC angelegt ist. Die Polarität muss nicht identifiziert werden, was die Installation in einpoligen Anwendungen vereinfacht und die Auflösung in Anwendungen mit rotierenden Magneten verdoppelt.

Diese kleinen und hochempfindlichen omnipolaren Geräte haben sich zu beliebten Bausteinen für die Durchflussmessung und die Bestimmung von Motordrehzahl und Zylinderstellung entwickelt.
