Here are a few takeaways from the podcast:

    • You never want your technology to get in the way of a good patient experience
    • Honeywell co-Study with HIMSS

By 2022, 9 out of 10 clinicians will be using mobile devices in the healthcare environment. Honeywell did a co-study with HIMSS to understand how healthcare providers are looking at adopting a mobility solution. Some of the motivating factors include:

      • Staff acceptance and clinician productivity. User productivity is critical and being able to create a positive user experience between the clinician and patient. For example, when a clinician is at a bedside they need to have devices that are 100% functional accessing data and perfuming multiple tasks associated with the patient.
      • Integration. Devices need to seamlessly integrate with healthcare technology (e.g., apps, EHR, EMR providers).
      • Cyber security and data privacy. Healthcare needs to be assured that data stays protected at all times.
      • And more
    • How Mobility Solutions Help with Patient Experience

Mobile solutions play an important part in the patient experience. One of the evolving needs in a mobility solution is the need for clinicians to have an all-around unified communication platform to keep care teams connected at all times.

    • Enterprise vs Consumer Grade Devices

Although some healthcare providers are adopting consumer devices like iPhones, a fully integrated healthcare enterprise mobility solution need to include the purpose-built enterprise devise.  A full healthcare mobile solution includes the purpose-built device, unified communication platform, integration to EMR and EHR provider, asset management support such as an MDM or Honeywell Operational Intelligence and more.

Honeywell enterprise devices such as the CT40 HC are purpose-built devices specifically for the healthcare environment. For example,

      • Protective Housing. Honeywell’s healthcare product offering includes disinfectant-ready housings (DHR). Disinfectant-ready housing and connectors are specifically designed to withstand frequent exposure to cleaning solutions recommended for the healthcare industry. Honeywell was one of the first manufacturers to introduce DRH to the healthcare market and has been providing these devices to hospitals and healthcare providers for over a decade.
      • Built for the environment. Devices like the CT40 HC need to be durable with an ergonomic, sleek design and lightweight. Devices need to fit easily in the hand and be comfortable to use for all day productivity with 12+ hours of battery life*.
      • One Device. Use one device to look up patient data, scan barcodes, and so much more.
      • Built-in Scan Engine. Eliminate the need to be tethered to a corded scanner. Enterprise devices include purpose-built 2D imagers that can quickly and accurately read 1D and 2D barcodes on virtually any medium – vials, syringes, IV bags, patient wristbands, and more. And you have a high-resolution camera lets you easily document images to aid in care.
      • Built for Security. CT40 HC Mobile Computer is certified for the FIPS 140-2 Level 1 security requirements to protect patient data – the highest level of data security in its class. Honeywell has strong relationships with leading operating system providers and can add extra layers and benefits regarding security that are needed for healthcare to keep patient data safe.
      • Mobility Edge allows you to test and validate applications once, accelerate deployments, optimize device performance, simplify maintenance, and extend product lifecycle.
      • Eco System of software providers. The Honeywell eco system of software partnerships lends itself to customization for specific needs and workflows for healthcare. For example, with the recent healthcare crisis, Honeywell has seen many new healthcare workflows and needs emerge with pharmacies, diagnostic drive-though, and delivering specimen results. Honeywell has been able to work with our partners and bring relevant solutions to market in just a few days.
