Overview
The Sensepoint range of flammable, toxic and oxygen gas detectors offerusers a high quality, low cost solution to their industrial gas monitoringneeds. Installation in potentially explosive atmospheres is made by theuse of a suitable Ex d or EX e approved junction box. The industry standardoutputs from Sensepoint are connected to either a choice of HoneywellAnalytics’ controllers or 3rd party DCS/PLC systems. both flammable andtoxic versions are certified to ATEX and IECEx. The flammable detector is available in either %LEL or PPM detection rangeversions and provides an industry standard mV bridge output. Typical lifeexpectancy is greater than 5 years, after which the detector is simplyreplaced with a new one. The toxic detectors are supplied pre calibratedfor easy installation and provide an industry standard 2 wire 4-20mA loopoutput. User connections are Ex d, while front end Intrinsic Safety (IS)design allows for easy exchange of the replaceable sensor while poweredIS design also removes the need for a sinter enabling very fast speed ofresponse and detection of ‘sticky’ gases such as Chlorine and Ammonia.The Sensepoint high temperature sensor has been specifically designedfor the detection of combustible gases in high temperature hazardous arealocations. Typical applications include turbine enclosures and drying ovensused in solvent based printing and coating machines. These applicationsrequire a sensor that provides reliable and stable detection allowing lowlevel alarm settings across a wide temperature range. Utilizing a speciallymatched pair of Sieger poison resistant combustible gas detectionelements, the Sensepoint High Temperature Sensor has a very stablebaseline allowing alarm trip points to be set as low as 5% LEL across atemperature range of -55°C to +150°C (-67°F to +302°F). The gas measuringrange can be configured from 0-20% LEL up to 0-100% LEL depending on thetype of controller used.
