A History of Maximizing Customer Value, From the Netherlands to India and Beyond

Since CCC's founding 50 years ago, we have always used proven expertise and technologies to maximize our customers' value. At every stage, our employees have been key to this mission. Working from offices around the globe, our experts have a long history of enabling our customers to succeed — a legacy we’ll continue as our customers navigate digitization, the energy transition and other dynamics that will shape our industry’s future.

The Story of CCC’s Global Offices, Through the Eyes of Long-time Employees

CCC is a global partner through and through. In many cases, our company’s key growth milestones were accompanied by the opening of new offices in strategic markets, the first of which was Houston, Texas. Beyond showcasing CCC’s growth, our office histories also reflect our commitment to serving customers — no matter the market dynamics or location of an operation.

    Netherlands Office
    As told by Patrick Jongenburger

In 1986, Honeywell became the sole distributor of CCC products in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Because Honeywell Amsterdam had a strong repair team, its field serviceengineers were selected to support CCC products in the region. The group took shape with the arrival of Serge Staroselsky, the son of CCC’s founder, who supported both the sales and field activities for two years to ensure our customers received unparalleled service.

As CCC’s regional customer base grew, we expanded our field service engineering team and launched the CCC Sales Group in Hoofddorp, which was led by Rob Castien. This group supported the Honeywell sales team, traveling abroad to commission CCC control systems for customers in numerous countries. These trips could range from a few days to a month or longer, but in each case, our engineers leveraged deep knowledge of turbomachinery control systems and applications to deliver a smooth commissioning process.

In 2000, Honeywell and CCC decided to end their sales partnership. The Honeywell field service engineers and CCC Sales Group both moved to the Zwanenburg office location. The group increased its roster of project engineers, who delivered CCC projects to clients in the region until the Italian office took over these activities. Until the Abu Dhabi office’s opening in 2006, our Netherlands field engineers also commissioned CCC control systems for our Middle East customers.

In 2022, CCC moved the office to a new location in Haarlem. Today, the office’s 27 field service engineers serve customers in the European and African regions together with Kazakhstan. These dedicated engineers also travel often to Asia or the Middle East to oversee critical installations — reinforcing the team’s history of supporting CCC’s international customer base.

    Italy Office
As told by Diego Milani and Stefano Belloni

Like the Netherlands office, our Italy office stemmed from the end of the Honeywell-CCC sales partnership. Initiated by four former Honeywell colleagues who managed the CCC product line, the office at Viale Brianza 20, Cinisello Balsamo opened in 2001. It thrived in its early years, serving Nuovo Pignone (now BH) and securing partnerships with Saras, the Trecate refinery and other organizations that maximized our customers’ value.

As more projects were executed in Italy, our team grew — and so did our office space. A pivotal moment came with the opening of a new office at Via Fosse Ardeatine, Cinisello Balsamo (Milan) in 2011. Despite global downturns in 2014 and 2017, the team’s office, now located at Via Matteotti, boasts spacious facilities and a laboratory for product demonstrations and testing.

Throughout decades of ups and downs, robust client demand was an important throughline. Our Italian team weathered the 2008 global crisis by focusing on client support and problem-solving. When faced with the 2020 pandemic, the team transitioned seamlessly to remote work, maintaining high quality standards while minimizing disruptions to project execution and delivery.

The Italian office’s culture has always been characterized by flexibility, agility and fast responses to our customers’ challenges. In countless situations, we have been able to address issues that our clients could not solve alone due to internal delays and organizational dynamics. Looking ahead, the Italian team is committed to balancing the agility and flexibility inherent in our office's success with the stability provided by Honeywell's extensive corporate structure. This combination will allow us to continue delivering unmatched service and expertise for our global customers.

    Middle East Office
    As told by Medhat Zaghloul

In 2005, CCC’s leadership recognized the need for a sales and engineering office in the Middle East. The region’s major oil and gas comp anies had begun requiring partners to have a local presence; at the same time, CCC was eager to better serve its rapidly growing customer base in the Gulf countries.

Steve Thompson, then CCC’s head of systems engineering, and I traveled to the UAE. Alongside Eid Dahdal, the region’s only sales person at the time, we surveyed both Dubai and Abu Dhabi as potential sites for the CCC office. The team unanimously chose Abu Dhabi, and in May 2006 the first CCC office in the Middle East opened its doors.

In 2013, CCC Abu Dhabi moved into a new, modern office space in Reem Island — another Abu Dhabi location that was properly outfitted to accommodate 30 staff. A satellite office opened in Dammam, Saudi Arabia in 2018, and a second satellite office in Cairo, Egypt in 2021. In 2023, these three CCC offices moved into respective Honeywell facilities. The largest is Honeywell’s Masdar City facility, which is now home to the CCC team from Reem Island.

Since 2006, the Middle East team has grown from four employees to more than 50 experts passionate about supporting major clients and their regional installations. CCC now controls more than 80% of ADNOC group turbocompressor assets and has become a trusted provider of turbomachinery controls expertise for most of the region’s end-users, including Saudi Aramco, Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), SABIC, Tupras and Petroleum Development Oman (PDO). Through every stage of growth, the CCC Middle East office has cultivated a culture of lean management and close cross-departmental coordination — to the benefit of CCC clients across this key industrial region.

    India Office
    As told by Raja Balasubramaniam

CCC’s Asia Pacific execution team was formed in November 2016 with the vision of better serving customers in this fast-developing region. The India office’s opening coincided with CCC’s wave of growth in the Asia Pacific, which has increased from $5M to $20M annual revenue since 2016 alone. This growth journey included the execution of complex projects including Petronas cybersecurity enhancements, RIL Jamnagar PRT upgrades and a BSP GT retrofit to CCC Prodigy.

During the pandemic years, the India office navigated many complex dynamics. However, the team’s strong bond and global mindset ensured customers continued receiving unmatched service without disruption. The team’s continued high performance led to the opening of a larger facility in 2023 — a major milestone for the India office. The new facility isn’t just a physical space; it reflects the team’s collective dedication, hard work and commitment to helping its customers succeed.

To celebrate the opening of the office at 901, Manjeera Trinity Corporate, JNTU – Hitech City Road, Hyderabad, Telangana 500072, the India team organized an inauguration ceremony in May 2023. CCC’s global leadership team traveled to Hyderabad for the ceremony, which featured inspiring speeches, ribbon-cutting and engaging team-building activities. As we look ahead to CCC’s next era, the India team is passionate about continuing to serve customers from its new state-of-the-art facility.

Over the last 50 years, our global offices have helped customers weather economic downturns, regulatory changes, a global pandemic and other forces that have transformed their operational approach. As our global teams look to the future, we’re just as committed to helping customers maximize their value — whether their initiatives involve digitization, emissions reduction or another critical goal, and no matter their operation’s location.

Let's shape the future of compressor controls together.
