Honeywell Enhances Utility Platform With Advanced Analytics And Grid Forecasting Through Innowats Integration

March 25, 2025

Innowatts’ AI-based application is now available on Honeywell Forge Performance+ for Utilities platform to better forecast and plan grid energy usage for operators

Honeywell is integrating Innowatts as an application on the Honeywell Forge Performance+ for Utilities platform, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to better manage supply and grid operations for electric utilities. Innowatts provides Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) insights and forecasting modules to better understand the current and future consumption of energy on the grid.

Utilities face several challenges from the integration of renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar, while managing unpredictable demand patterns from distributed generation where electricity is generated at or near its end user. By using Innowatts’ application, utilities will be able to harness data from smart meters and receive actionable insights around distributed energy resources (DER) identification, load disaggregation and customer segmentation that was previously not available, allowing them to enhance electricity supply decisions and reliability of the grid by identifying load shifts before they happen.

“Our integration into Honeywell’s groundbreaking software platform has the ability to transform grid modernization and predictability,” said David Bounty, CEO of Innowatts. “Together we have created a powerful combination of automation and advanced analytics that will help utilities not just respond to the changing energy landscape but proactively shape it.”

This latest addition to the Honeywell Forge Performance+ for Utilities platform helps address some of those most critical challenges facing utilities today – accurately forecasting energy demand, identifying and integrating distributed energy resources, and optimizing grid operations in real time.

“With much of today’s aging grid infrastructure designed to support highly predictable data, utilities are looking for ways to manage the increase in energy load and the dynamics of DERs through use of advanced analytics and AI,” said Amol Motivala, President of Honeywell Smart Energy. “By partnering with Innowatts, Honeywell Forge Performance+ for Utilities can now provide utilities with unprecedented visibility and foresight into their operations, leading to more reliable service for their customers.”

Honeywell Forge Performance+ for Utilities is designed to help utilities monitor assets, effectively identify root-cause and introduce predictive analytics to become more proactive with grid asset management. Innowatts is one of a variety of third-party applications that can be run on the platform.
