Estos dispositivos de efecto Hall digital, versátiles y pequeños son operados por el campo magnético de un magneto permanente o un electroimán, están diseñados para responder a la alternancia de los polos norte y sur. El regulador integrado ofrece mayor estabilidad de funcionamiento desde un rango de voltaje de alimentación de 4,5 V CC a 24 V CC y el circuito interno está diseñado para evitar que se dañe el sensor en caso de que se invierta accidentalmente la polaridad del voltaje de alimentación.

La salida de voltaje del sumidero de colector abierto se adapta fácilmente a una amplia variedad de circuitos electrónicos. Ambos productos están diseñados para aplicaciones de alto volumen. El SS40F está verificado de fábrica a 25 °C [77 °F] y el SS40AF está verificado de fábrica tanto a 25 °C [77 °F] como a 125 °C [257 °F].

Estos productos están disponibles en un paquete plano tipo TO-92 con hilos rectos en envases a granel.
